Guide To Playing Keyboards

Keyboards are a wonderful instument to get to know. Thanks to technological advances, its not the same, dull upright piano anymore. Keyboards have come a long way since they emerged in the 70s and 80s. They help build songs, create stage effects, and give songs flavor. So do you wanna learn this magnificent piece of equipment? If so, read on.

The keyboard alphabet is quite different from our alphabet. Its a bit the same but repeats itself in this pattern: A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A-B for the whole layout. Middle C (MC) is where the treble and bass clefs meet. The individual staffs have letter arrangements for them in which notes are placed as seen below:

Treble Staff:
MC-E-G-B-D-F-A (on lines)
D-F-A-C-E-G (between lines)

Bass Staff:
G-B-D-F-A-MC (on lines)
A-C-E-G-B (between lines)

The black keys are sharp (#) and flat (♭) keys. Flat if descending and Sharp if ascending. White keys are natural. Keyboards come in many different sizes, from 32-key to 88-key. Get familarized with the keyboards layout, because it'll be essential for playing and composing songs.
